Apple has been in turmoil since one of its subcontractors had sensitive data hacked.

A group of hackers called REvil attacked Quanta, a Taiwanese company working on iPads, MacBooks and Apple Watches.

In early April, the subcontractor's database was hacked, reveals

Data has been stolen concerning future iPads and other brand objects, but especially the future Apple logo, which the company has not yet unveiled.

REvil then threatened to distribute them widely if no ransom was paid.

The negotiations stopped

The hackers initially demanded the sum of $ 50 million.

Faced with Quanta's refusal to pay this sum, hackers have published diagrams and plans for future MacBooks.

These documents quickly disappeared from the web, with Quanta finally agreeing to negotiate with cybercriminals.

The amount of the ransom demanded is now only $ 20 million.

Apple and Quanta have until May 7 to pay for it.

If this is not done, REvil promises to disseminate the rest of the sensitive and confidential data stolen from the subcontractor.

According to

, negotiations are currently at a standstill.
