There was a controversy over the fact that soldiers in the army were given poor lunch boxes during self-isolation periods after going on vacation.

However, it turned out that there was a problem with the Air Force as well.

They quarantined soldiers and contacts with suspected coronavirus symptoms in an abandoned building that was destroyed in a frozen and destroyed building in January, when the severe cold was on the rise.

It was a place where there was no water, let alone heating, and the soldiers had to endure three days eating combat food there.

Reporter Han So-hee is the exclusive report.

There is a lot of shattered ice in a corner of the building.

Garbage is scattered throughout the hallway, and sofas and camp beds are placed in offices full of graffiti.

It is an abandoned building where an air force unit in Gyeonggi Province in January quarantined four people, including soldiers suspected of corona 19 and contacts.

It is a place where there is no water, let alone heating.

[Damaged Soldier: The pipeline was all blown up, and water was flooding all the buildings. It was now frozen as the weather was getting cold, so it became completely like an ice rink, (we) broke the ice with a pickaxe (breaking)]

Food and water were not provided in time, and the toilet could not be used, so I asked for help, but on my own. The answer to deal with it was returned.

[Damaged soldiers: I couldn't get separate supplies for meals or bottled water. In the case of soldiers complaining of abdominal pain (due to corona symptoms), in the bucket there (constipation....)]

Eventually, 3 out of 4 people were confirmed, but only after enduring 2 nights and 3 days in the cold in a bad condition. I was transferred to the military treatment center.

The unit quarantined a significant number of enlisted soldiers in poorly abandoned buildings while 15 people were found confirmed.

[Bang Hye-rin / Military Human Rights Center Counseling Team Leader: I think the gaze of the units looking at these patients was actually the biggest problem. In fact, it is a part that the troops should strive to provide certain conditions... .]

The unit was self-inspected by the Air Force, but was not subject to any disciplinary action.

The Air Force said it was inevitable due to the nature of the mountainous area, and it took into account that the unit tried to transport confirmed soldiers as quickly as possible.
