This is a self-test kit that allows the public to test for Corona 19 on their own.

The cotton swab included in the kit is placed directly into your nose to collect a sample.

Then, put the swab into the enclosed sample container, shake it, and drop three or four drops on the test device.

One line is negative, and two lines are positive.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has conditionally approved two types of self-test kits.

The PCR and gene amplification tests performed by medical staff take about 6 hours to get the results, but these products can be checked in about 15 minutes.

To make it easier for the general public to use, the length of the cotton swab is from 20cm to 7cm, and the sample collection method did not include the nasopharynx, which is the deepest part of the nose, but only 1 to 2cm inside the nostril.

However, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has set a condition to submit clinical data containing the accuracy of use by the general public within 3 months.

[Kwon Oh-sang / Director of Medical Device Safety Bureau, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety: We have to provide clinical data stating that the probability of positive patients coming out as positive meets the criteria above conditions. It should be correct with the shame the company claims... .]

Self-test kits can be purchased through pharmacies or the Internet as early as a week later.

In foreign countries such as the United States, it is sold for around $10 each, but in Korea, it is expected to be around 10,000 won without health insurance.
