government joint special investigation headquarters initiated a forced investigation of Rep. Kang Ki-yoon, the power of the people, who is accused of speculating on real estate.
The Gyeongnam Police Agency said yesterday (22nd) that it had seized and searched the companies and banks related to the alleged speculation by Kang.
Rep. Kang is under suspicion of acquiring market profits by purchasing the site of Jinhae Port, as well as suspicion of driving his work to the family company.
The National Police Agency's Severe Crime Investigation Division is calling the former Vice-minister-level Minister of Construction and Building Administration at around 10 am to investigate.
Former Commissioner Lee is suspected of speculation because the area around Sejong City, which he bought under his wife's name while in office, was selected as a candidate for the national industrial complex.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's anti-corruption public crime investigation unit began a seizure and search of the Seoul Housing and Urban Corporation's Gangnam headquarters from 9:30 am today.
The police are known to have obtained information that incumbent SH employees, who were in charge of housing development, etc., handed over inside information to local real estate and received bribes in return.
Police believe there are at least three employees involved in the suspicion, and they are sending investigators to three locations, including the SH headquarters and regional centers, to which they belong to a seizure search.
