As more people visit Jeju in recent spring, the number of corona patients, mainly tourists, is increasing.

In the midst of this, there have been reports that people who went to Jeju for group tours are using tricks to avoid being noticed.

They share cars and move around, and they pretend that they don't know each other and enter the restaurant together.

Reporter Jo Yoon-ha covered the report.

front of a restaurant in Jeju Jungmun Tourist Complex.

As passengers get off the van, another van arrives in succession.

In the buffet restaurant with a view of the sea, meal preparation is in full swing, while customers wear life jackets and line up on a yacht.

It is difficult to find a distance on a yacht that has been sailing for about an hour, and people who do not wear masks are noticeable here and there.

The guests head straight to the buffet restaurant, but when the reporters try to enter, they stop saying the reservation is full.

[Travel agency staff: I have a reservation for a group reception. Reservation is not available now. There are no seats at all.]

I went in with the City Hall crackdown team.

80 people are eating.

It was said to be a wedding reception, but there are no signs of holding a banquet.

When the crackdown begins, customers slipping out of the restaurant, asking to show their reservation records, the staff only makes excuses.

[Restaurant staff: There is a list of all reservations. It's all there, but I'll give it to you tomorrow morning because all of the staff have gone from work.] A

total of 80 people of 4 each made a separate reservation and claim that they don't know each other.

[Restaurant staff: (Are you not sure everyone?) Yes. All of them are 4 people, and 4 people each have individual reservations.]

However, in the reservation details confirmed by the reporter, one travel agency made a group reservation of '100 people' and even a record of'Do not accept other guests' remains.

QR check-in or listings are required at the restaurant, but this was also not followed.

In order not to be noticed as a group tour, the travel agency carried out a so-called'split group tour' in which they moved by van rather than by chartered bus and entered the restaurant at a time difference.

The next day, when I asked this travel agency for group reservations, I repeatedly emphasized that we should pretend we don't know each other.

[Travel agency staff: Like in Operation 007, we need to cooperate well with each other, such as precautions while doing group katok with each other really closely.]

City Hall is planning to impose fines on restaurants for violating quarantine regulations and conduct investigations on travel agencies .
