For the “Amazon Salon” of hairdressing in the East End of London, Amazon has put the package: two floors and 140 m² filled with state-of-the-art High Tech technologies.

Thanks to a webcam embedded in the mirror, customers will be able to visualize their faces in augmented reality in real time with their future new cut, dye or other.

Once decided on their cut, they will be taken care of by the team of London hairstylist and stylist Elena Lavagni to ensure a more than faithful rendering.

Unlike cashless grocery stores, Amazon would have no intention of going into the hair salon business.

This concept would in fact be an opportunity for the firm to show its technological know-how: “It will be an experimental place where we present new products and new technologies, and there are currently no plans to do so. open other Amazon lounges, ”says the company's official blog.

In addition to augmented reality, Amazon intends to show its "point and learn" technology, allowing the customer to point with his hand the product that interests them on the shelves to have more information about it and possibly order it thanks to a QR coded.

A marketing coup

If Amazon is not interested in health centers, the firm is however embarking on the sale of cosmetics and fashion.

This experimental show therefore seems to be also a marketing coup to make people talk about it.

The Amazon Salon will initially be open only to employees of the firm.

But quidams will be admitted in the coming weeks.
