Data centers in the regions are popular.

In recent years, companies specializing in hosting business servers have set up in the regions.

Proximity that improves efficiency and reassures the customer in relation to servers installed on other continents.

It is the hidden face of the internet.

Data centers, large spaces where the servers that support websites are housed, are being set up in the regions.

If they were concentrated in the Paris region or abroad a few years ago, more and more French cities are attracting these centers as in Toulouse, in Haute-Garonne.

They can be installed anywhere, like in a shed.

This is the case with the company FullSave.

From the outside it is a classic building of an activity zone.

Inside, everything is ultra-secure to prevent intrusions.

Hugues Brunel, Managing Director of the FullSave company, must run his finger through several fingerprint readers before being able to access the server room: “In this data center, there is a capacity of 260 cabinets. than a large Parisian data center, it is 10 to 50 times bigger. "

For the director, the idea is to stay on a human scale.

Each server thus belongs to a client.

Proximity as a marketing argument

The center is only responsible for building security and air conditioning.

For FullSave, this proximity has become a marketing argument.

"If we have our emails which are in New York or I do not know where in the United States, there are inevitably problems of flow and latency. Here, the latency is almost zero", underlines Hugues Brunel.

The Director of FullSave adds: "It also improves security in the sense that customers can know where their servers are and customers can come and see them in real life. It's not something intangible." With the arrival of new customers, the 1,600 square meters of the hangar will quickly be filled. The company plans to build a new location to double their capacity.
