The behind-the-scenes talk about the luxury foreign-made car driven by the daughter of an independent lawmaker Lee Sang-jik, whose arrest warrant was requested for embezzlement or negation.

According to lawmaker Lee today (21st), he issued a statement appealing resentment to his fellow lawmakers yesterday ahead of a vote on the National Assembly's arrest motion.

Rep. Lee set the day by saying, "Even though the prosecution has secured the necessary evidence, we are trying to arrest an active member of the National Assembly who is not concerned about destroying the evidence or fleeing."

The suspicion that 110 million won of funds from Eastar Holdings, an Eastar Jet subsidiary, was used for the Porsche, where Lee's daughter was riding, has also opened their mouths.

Rep. Lee said, "My daughter who had a major car accident in junior high school was treated in an intensive care unit and miraculously recovered, but her second son died." Porsche worth 99 million won."

He said, "This foreign car was turned into a luxury car that was illegally purchased by taking out the company's public funds."

However, some media outlets pointed out that the explanation was not convincing to Congressman Lee, "Porsche is a safe car."

In response, Lee said, "As some media reports, this Porsche is not worth 500 to 600 million won," and "It is at the level of a high-end domestic car, and it is not bought by Congressman Lee. The daughter, who is the representative of Eastar Jet, leased it for business." I explained.

Meanwhile, the motion to arrest Lee is expected to be voted on at the plenary session of the National Assembly this afternoon.

Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office previously requested an arrest warrant against Lee for alleged violations of the Act on Specific Economic Crimes Aggravated Punishment, etc.

Congressman Lee is accused of deducting 5.845 billion won from the company while actually owning Eastar Jet and six affiliates from March 2015 to May 2019.
