The Russian embassy reproached the State Department for not mentioning Gagarin

“We note with regret that this is not the first time the US State Department has shown unconsciousness about the history of space exploration,” the embassy's Facebook page said.

The diplomatic mission recalled that the UN General Assembly declared April 12 as the International Day of Human Space Flight in honor of Yuri Gagarin.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a trip to the city of Engels, Saratov Region, on Cosmonautics Day, visited the landing site of Yuri Gagarin.
