“If you follow our plans, then in 2024 we will provide all of Russia with 100% coverage of space communications and broadband access,” Rogozin quoted TASS as saying.

He specified that broadband Internet access is of great interest to the country.

“After the approval of the Sphere program, we plan to immediately launch work on the creation of new satellite constellations on new platforms,” Rogozin explained.

The head of Roscosmos stressed that the priority coverage area is the Arctic, since it needs to be “provided with highly detailed monitoring, broadband Internet and space communications,” in particular, this is necessary for the development of the Northern Sea Route.

Earlier Rogozin announced two launches of Proton-M planned in 2021.
