A mother in her 40s who was handed over to trial for long-term neglect in a house full of garbage and filth so that insects crawl around was sentenced to prison.

Judge Kang Seong-woo, who was solely for criminal 4 at Bucheon Branch of the Incheon District Court, sentenced A (43, female), who was charged with child abandonment under the Child Welfare Act, to two years in prison at the sentence of today (6th).

Judge Kang also ordered Mr. A to complete a 120-hour child abuse treatment program and restricted him from working in child-related institutions for three years.

Judge Kang said, "As a mother, the defendant was obliged to raise the victims in good health, but he neglected local business trips as an excuse." It makes me guess the life in the meantime.”

"The second victim, who was 5 years old, was delayed in growth and couldn't walk, and the defendant knew this, but vaguely thought that it would be okay, and did not even get free vaccinations." I had to eat meals at the convenience store Gifticon that this sent me and take care of my younger brother,” he added.

Judge Kang said, "If the neighbors were not interested, the victims would have been left unattended," he said. "Even if the defendant was returned to the home, it was questionable whether to raise the victims well, and the guilt was poor, so they should be severely punished."

The prosecution asked Mr. A for five years in prison at a decision trial held on the 16th of last month.

Mr. A was arrested for neglecting his son B (13) and his daughter C (6) in a pile of trash crawling with insects at his home in Yangchon-eup, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do in October and December of last year and not properly caring for it.

At the time of discovery, Ms. C, who was uncomfortable, had poor nutritional status and had not even received basic vaccinations.

Compared to his peers, his language development was significantly lowered, but he did not receive medical treatment in time.

In the house where the brothers and sisters lived, there were traces of Ms. C's use of diapers and baby bottles.

A, a freelance writer, struggled financially as the job market froze with Corona 19 while writing self-introduction letters for job seekers instead.

He has been away from home for a long time since October last year, writing promotional articles for local governments in other regions, and it was found that he stopped by the house for a while and went back to work in the local area after seeing the children.

In the first trial held in February of this year, Mr. A said, "My husband divorced immediately after childbirth, raising the eldest child by himself, and gave birth to a second daughter as a single mother (with another man)." I was in a difficult situation to ask for help with raising children because I won."
