The CEO of Niantic John Hanke has panicked fans of new technologies by posting this Monday on Twitter the photo of a pair of augmented reality glasses.

"Great to see the progress we are making in making this kind of equipment possible, coupled with our platforms," said the head of the studio behind Pokémon GO laconically.

The company has been

about the strong potential of such glasses since 2017, says

The cliché posted on the social network is very partial.

It only reveals a tiny part of a glass as well as the end of one of the branches, which bears the inscription of the firm.

Close examination reveals a device resembling a mini-speaker.

However, the intervention of the manager on the social network does not give any information about the place that the company wants to give in its strategy to this object and to augmented reality.

A presentation was made in early March

It is not clear from the photo whether the glasses provide visual functionality or only audio technology.

Amazon's Echo Frames, for example, offer a reality augmentation process based solely on sound.

Microsoft's Google Glasses or HoloLens were designed for a virtual experience involving sight and hearing.

A demonstration version of Pokémon GO using the possibilities offered by HoloLens was presented to the public in early March.

It offered glasses wearers access to creatures invisible to other players since they did not appear on smartphone screens.
