The mother of a foreigner who habitually assaulted her 7-month-old daughter, leading to brain death, was arrested by the police.

The Jeonbuk Police Agency announced today (29th) that he had arrested Mr. A in his twenties on suspicion of child abuse and serious injury.

Mr. A is accused of assaulting his daughter who was born last year at his home in Iksan several times with his fists and throwing them to the floor to injure him.

He was found kneeling, lifting the child at head level and throwing it over and over again on a thin mattress.

The police explained that the height at which Mr. A threw the child was about 1 meter or more, and that there is a high possibility that he was greatly shocked.

As a result of the assault, the daughter suffered extensive damage to the entire left brain, right frontal lobe, brain stem, cerebellum, and more than three-quarters of the entire brain.

The child is currently unconscious and relies on ventilators in hospitals to sustain life, police said.

On the 13th, the police urgently arrested Mr. A by conducting an investigation after receiving a report that "a child with brain death is suspected of being abused".

Mr. A admitted to the charges in the police, saying, "My daughter pissed and kept crying and slapped."

After giving birth to a child in August last year, he was planning to raise a child with the help of parents in Asia, but it did not come true as entry and exit restrictions were restricted in the aftermath of Corona 19.

As a result of this, my husband stated that he was under extreme parenting stress while working at work and raising a daughter by himself.

The police said they had not found any other child abuse circumstances in the husband so far, but said they are investigating the case with his wife, with various possibilities in mind.

The Jeonbuk Police Agency is planning to apply the charges of attempted murder against Mr. A, who was detained because of the number of times his daughter was thrown and robbery, and that the crime was high.

An official from the Jeonbuk Police Agency said, "According to the opinions of the medical staff, there is a high possibility that the daughter being treated for brain death will die."
