The first PCR test for the diagnosis of malaria has been developed in Russia

According to TASS, it was developed by the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor.

The FBSI Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor has developed and registered the first PCR test in the Russian Federation for the diagnosis of malaria.

This test has a high analytical sensitivity, allowing the detection of infection even at a low level of infection, as well as in the incubation and initial periods of the disease, ”the report says.

Earlier it was reported that Russian and American scientists have successfully completed the assembly of reference (averaged) genomes of two mosquito species - the main vectors of malaria in the African tropics.
