The Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine, which was the only corona vaccine to be introduced in Korea, developed as a'one-time vaccination' method, is rising to the first expert verification table today (28th).

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety today is holding a verification advisory meeting, the first step in the triple advisory process with external experts, to review Janssen's COVID-19 vaccine.

The results will be announced tomorrow at 10:20 am at the briefing room of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Osong, Chungbuk.

Janssen, a pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson, officially applied for an item permission for the Corona 19 vaccine from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on February 27th.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said that it would significantly shorten the period of approval and screening for the Corona 19 vaccine from 6 months to 40 days, so if this schedule is met, the Janssen vaccine should be officially approved within the second week of April.

The AstraZeneca vaccine was officially licensed 37 days after the application for approval, and the Pfizer vaccine 39 days later.

Janssen vaccine is a'viral vector vaccine' made by putting the corona 19 virus surface antigen gene into an adenovirus template that only infects chimpanzees.

It is the same platform as the AstraZeneca product that has been inoculated in Korea.

It was developed as the only one-time administration method among the Corona 19 vaccines to come in Korea.

The government has signed a contract with Janssen to purchase 6 million vaccines.
