According to police and judicial sources interviewed by AFP, a 21-year-old man died stabbed in Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes in Seine-et-Marne.

An investigation for intentional homicide should be entrusted to the judicial police of Versailles.

A young man was stabbed to death on Friday evening in the street in Saint-Thibault-des-Vignes in the Seine-et-Marne department, judicial and police sources told AFP on Saturday.

"Found on the ground in the street"

The facts occurred around 8:30 p.m. in this town of 6,500 inhabitants located about twenty kilometers from Paris.

"A 21-year-old man was found on the ground in the street. Carried by firefighters, he died of his injuries," said the Meaux prosecutor's office, without giving further details on the background of this attack.

The body must be autopsied at the forensic institute in Paris.

An investigation was opened for intentional homicide and entrusted to the judicial police of Versailles.
