Thousands of black cranes flew to the land of migratory birds in Chungnam.

Because of the high pathogenic AI and avian influenza worries, a visit to a natural monument is not just a pleasure.

In order to prevent the black cranes from approaching the poultry farms for food, rice seeds are sown directly in a distance and a bed is provided.

This is reporter Lee Yong-sik.

<Reporter> A

swarm of black cranes settled in the rice fields of the reclaimed land of Cheonsu Bay.

He raises his long neck and looks around, then lowers his head to find and eat food.

After winter in Japan and Suncheon Bay, Jeollanam-do, we rest on our way back to the breeding ground of Siberia.

The problem is that there are too many.

There are about 4,000 black cranes that have started arriving since last month.

Until the end of this month, leaving for Siberia, I am worried that nature will fly to farmhouses for food that is scarce.

Eventually, local governments and environmental organizations started feeding.

Even if you sprinkle 50 bags of 1t rice seeds and 20kg, they are all eaten in 2-3 days.

Only the rice seed I have given so far is 10 tons, but I plan to give them about 4 tons more and hold them in the place by the end of this month.

[Kim Shin-hwan/Environmental activist: I think that preventing migratory birds from scattering is more effective in AI quarantine.] In the

rice fields near the feeding grounds, we even made a bed for migratory birds.

As the day turns to sunset, the black cranes fly into bed one after another.

[Han Seong-woo/Seosan Bird Land Supervisor: We provide a shallow water level of about 20~30cm to sleep, and rice paddies.]

Providing migratory bird food and dragonflies supplements energy to migratory birds going a long way while providing energy. It has the effect of one stone and two birds to protect the poultry farms from AI.
