Apple

has distributed a

security update

for the different operating systems of its computers and for the Safari browser in order to solve a memory corruption error, and urges users to install it even if it does not have new features.

The tech company has released

iOS 14.4.1, iPadOS 14.4.1, watchOS 7.3.2, macOS Big Sur 11.2.3, and Safari 14.0.3

to fix a security flaw identified as CVE-2021-1844 and discovered by researchers at the Google Threat Analysis Group and Microsoft Browser Vulnerability Research Group.

The specific bug concerns

a memory corruption bug

that could allow

arbitrary code

to run through the processing of maliciously crafted web content, as listed on Apple's Support page.

Security updates are available from this Monday.

The company notes that keeping 'software' up to date is "

one of the most important things

" a user can do to

keep their devices safe
