Even on the weekend when the number of Corona 19 tests decreases, the number of new confirmed cases exceeded 400 on the second day with 416.

As small-scale group infections such as family and acquaintances continue, the spread can increase again at any time.

To prevent this, the quarantine authorities decided to double the number of diagnostic tests to 500,000 a day.

<Reporter> The

average number of new confirmed cases per day for the week of Corona 19 has been stagnant in the 300-400 range for 7 consecutive weeks.

However, as group infections that are difficult to track, such as family and acquaintance meetings and workplaces, are spreading in various places, the size of the confirmed cases can be increased at any time.

In the call center in Seo-gu, Gwangju, three additional people were tested positive, and the cumulative confirmed number was 76.

For acquaintance meetings in Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do and Buk-gu, Daegu, two confirmed cases were added, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 12 and 34, respectively.

Small group infections through private gatherings are continuing.

In particular, in the metropolitan area, an average of 295 patients occurred per day last week, which is 80% of all patients.

Various quarantine indicators also lit red.

On the weekend, yesterday (6th), the number of screening clinics decreased by 11,000 from the previous day, but the number of confirmed cases decreased by only two, so the positive rate rose significantly from 1.27% to 1.96%.

The government plans to strengthen its quarantine capabilities in preparation for the 4th outbreak.

We decided to quickly find the source of infection by expanding the temporary screening test centers in the non-metropolitan area and increasing the capacity of 230,000 tests a day to 500,000 cases.
