Yesterday (1st), heavy snow fell in the Gangwon area.

There was a lot of snow, cars were crowded on the last day of the holiday, and snow removal was not properly performed.

Some people stayed up all night in isolation in the snow last night.

Reporter Sangmin Kim is on the scene.

Reporter Kim, there is really a lot of snow behind you. Where is the place you are now?

<Reporter>

Yes, I am now in front of the Western Tollgate.

If you look back now, there is a snowplow, can you see it now?

A large vehicle to clear the snow has just arrived, so there are quite a few vehicles out there.

But, how much snow fell during the night was so much that my knees were soaked up like this.

There were a lot of cars in front of you when you came over like this, but let's take a look in this direction.

You can find a lot of vehicles that have not yet escaped, and there is a lot of snow piled up on the vehicle body like this.

And it is such a situation that it is difficult to move forward because this amount of snow is piled up now.

We arrived at this site today at around 1 am, and the earliest citizens who came to this site have been around 4 pm yesterday.

So, now that the time has passed 7 o'clock, my feet were completely tied in this one place for about 13 hours.

As the snow removal work was just starting like this, we continued to watch with hope that we could get out of it as soon as possible.

Citizens strongly expressed their dissatisfaction with why the road construction work was delayed so much.

For those who couldn't get enough water to drink, there is a toll booth just 200m away, but I went to the toll booth office and asked for some water, like this.

But didn't the snowplow come overnight, that's not it, it was around 2 am, and a large snowplow came.

However, when we checked the large snowplow, it was a vehicle that ran for about 6 hours from Goryeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do to Gangwon-do.

It seems that the equipment and manpower situation was not good.

Even though the snowplow came in a difficult way, it could not play its role in some sections, such as on narrow roads, so the road construction workers scooped up snow accumulated with a shovel and then pushed the vehicle with the drivers.

It is believed to be one of the reasons that snow removal takes such a long time.

Our coverage vehicle also went through a dizzying situation where he was isolated for about two hours because of snow after turning into a nearby side road.

Unlike large roads, it seems that there are not a few sections where snow removal has not yet been done, so we need to closely examine the road conditions and move.
