On March 1, 1966, the descent vehicle of the Soviet automatic interplanetary station "Venera-3" for the first time in history reached the surface of another planet - Venus. Despite the fact that the station, for technical reasons, could not transmit scientific information about the celestial body itself to Earth, this mission played an important role in the study of space. The first stations "Luna", "Venus" and "Mars", developed under the leadership of the great designer Sergei Korolev, became symbols of the achievements of Soviet science and paved the way for devices of the next generations.
