As patients are continuing in various places, the number of additional confirmed patients a day has been increasing and decreasing in recent years.

The place where group infection was confirmed is the industrial complex in Nam-myeon, Yangju, Gyeonggi Province.

A Nigerian worker, who worked for a company here, was diagnosed with Corona 19 after his death yesterday (25th).

Subsequently, as a result of conducting a preemptive inspection on the employees of the industrial complex, 22 additional people were confirmed, including 21 foreign workers and one Korean.

As the group infection continued at the workplace, the number of new corona19 confirmed yesterday increased to 406 again in a day to 400.

There were 382 local infected patients, and 73% were confirmed in the metropolitan area, including 129 in Seoul and 135 in Gyeonggi.

The quarantine authorities decided to extend the social distancing, which is currently the second stage in the metropolitan area and the 1.5 stage in the non-metropolitan area, by two weeks until the 14th of next month.

We also decided to keep the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people and the 10 p.m. business hours limit.

[Son Young-rae / Head of Social Strategy Division, Central Accident Control Center: 300-400 patients still occur every day, so there is a risk that the outbreak will increase again if tension is relieved by easing the intensity of quarantine a little.]

The quarantine authorities believe that if the group infection continues, the quarantine capacity will be decentralized, so even the COVID-19 vaccination started today may be disrupted.

Until a certain level of collective immunity is secured by vaccination, the government said that the risk of Corona 19 is still there, and asked to keep wearing masks and keeping distance.

In addition, the draft of a new reorganization that further simplifies social distancing, currently in its fifth phase, is scheduled to be released next week.
