Tomorrow (26th), when the domestic COVID-19 vaccination first begins, more than 5,000 residents and workers in nursing facilities and nursing hospitals nationwide will receive the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine.

Another day, on the 27th, 300 of the medical staff at the forefront of responding to Corona 19 get Pfizer vaccine.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today announced the first targets for each vaccine.

First, on the 26th, the first day of vaccination, 5,266 residents and workers under the age of 65 in 213 nursing homes nationwide get the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Separately, 292 nursing hospitals that received the AstraZeneca vaccine are also starting vaccinations.

Pfizer vaccination is conducted from the day after tomorrow at the Central Vaccination Center in the National Medical Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.

199 workers in this medical center and 101 workers in hospitals treating COVID-19 patients in the metropolitan area are eligible for vaccination.

The vaccine that they fit is Pfizer's vaccine introduced through the COVAX facility, an international vaccine supply organization.

Pfizer vaccines are difficult to distribute and store at temperatures around -75 degrees Celsius, so vaccination begins at the vaccination center that can manage them, and then expands to each medical institution.

From the 8th of next month, the government plans to deliver the vaccine from the vaccination center to 82 in-house vaccination institutions, so that the vaccination can be performed according to the institution's plans.
