Idol group BAP member Himchan, who was handed over to trial for forced harassment, was sentenced to imprisonment at the first trial.
Judge Jeong Seong-wan, who was solely responsible for criminal 14 of the Seoul Central District Court, sentenced Himchan to 10 months in prison and ordered him to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program.
The court explained the reason for the sentence, saying, "The defendant denies the charges, but the victim's statement is credible and supports the case of the prosecution."
However, there was no court arrest, saying, "I will give the victim an opportunity to receive forgiveness."
Himchan was previously accused of forcibly harassing a woman in her twenties at a pension in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province in 2018.
