AstraZeneca vaccine, the first Corona 19 vaccine in Korea, was shipped for the first time today (24th) at a consignment production plant in Andong, Gyeongbuk.

The shipped vaccine will be shipped to public health centers and nursing hospitals across the country tomorrow, and vaccination will begin in earnest from the morning of the day after tomorrow.

The vaccine shipped today is 347,000 doses, the first of the 1.57 million AstraZeneca vaccines commissioned by SK Bioscience in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Vaccines will be delivered sequentially to public health centers and nursing hospitals across the country starting tomorrow, and vaccinations are performed in earnest from the morning of the day after tomorrow.



The targets for vaccination are about 289,000 people, including workers in nursing hospitals, nursing homes for the elderly, mental care and rehabilitation facilities, and residents.



In nursing hospitals where doctors work, the first vaccination must be completed within 5 days after checking the delivered vaccine. Health center visit teams and specialized medical staff visit and inoculate in elderly nursing facilities, mental care, and rehabilitation facilities where there is no doctor. .



Following nursing hospitals, vaccinations for workers in high-risk medical institutions and first responders to Corona 19 will start on the 8th of the following month.



Two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the government expects, will be completed before June.



Separately, Pfizer's vaccines, which are imported through the international project for joint vaccine purchase,'Kobex Facility', will arrive in Korea the day after tomorrow.



Pfizer's vaccine will fit about 55,000 medical staff working in hospitals dedicated to infectious diseases, treatment beds for severely ill patients, and life treatment centers.
