At about 10:20 pm on the 18th, a fire in Yasan, Sacheon-ri, Yangyang-eup, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, burned down 6.5㏊ of the forest in 6 hours.
According to the forestry and fire departments, a fire started last night in a warehouse in Sacheon-ri, Yangyang, moved to nearby hills and spread with the wind.
Firefighting and forestry authorities, along with Yangyang County, the police, and military units, put in 60 units of equipment such as pump vehicles and 1,28 manpower, and extinguished the fire at around 4:15 am today.
At one time, when flames came down to the neighborhood of private houses, firefighting forces were deployed to build a line of defense.
By this fire, 84 residents of 40 households in the vicinity were evacuated to the town hall, and it has been confirmed that there have been no casualties to date.
