Henri Verdier, French digital ambassador, and his team announced on Twitter on Tuesday the arrival of Scripta Manent and the Open Terms Archive.

These are digital tools hosted by the services of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, allowing the general conditions of use (T & Cs) of the main online platforms to be monitored.

It is designed to warn its users in the event of a change in the regulations of a service site, explains the website of the ambassador, relayed by

.

The objective of the software is to give Internet users the information they need to understand the vulnerability, loyalty and legality of regulations.

Congratulations @AmbNum for the launch of #ScriptaManent, which compiles the terms of use of online services and allows their evolution to be followed in complete transparency.

Nearly 637 T & Cs identified

A total of 637 general conditions of use (T & Cs) from 174 digital service providers are available on Scripta Manent, which allows you to measure changes between two dates of your choice.

For the moment, only those written in English and falling under European jurisdiction are analyzed.

Like the program archives old T & Cs, it offers the possibility of "browsing the history of versions".

Among the platforms monitored are TikTok, Google or Google AdSence, said the organization attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Call for papers

Open Terms Archive comes in two instances.

The first, public, informs about all the modifications by e-mail and offers an easier exploration.

A personal private instance is also available.

Users also have the option of configuring specific alerts.

“Help us improve the Open Terms Archive,” the creators of the collaborative program asked on their site.

They appeal to those who wish to contribute to the development of the tool or to add data relating to additional online service providers.
