Facebook is currently working on a connected watch project.

The future watch could run on Android by embedding Wear OS, Google's connected watch operating system, reports The Information relayed by

Futura Tech

.

But Facebook could also be developing its own OS.

The social network has apparently been preparing its own operating system for a year, called Eye OS.

It could take place in the future watch as well as in the brand's smart photo frames (Portal) and virtual reality headsets (Oculus).

Smart glasses also in preparation

The release of this watch is scheduled for 2022. The connected object would be able to support its user in terms of health and fitness, by providing constants such as pulse, temperature, etc.

Facebook especially intends to position itself by offering access to messaging from its watch, which will therefore probably include Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger.

But before the marketing of this watch, Facebook will release its eagerly awaited smart glasses, the design and optical part of which has been entrusted to Ray-Ban.

These will carry Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS chips, as well as a photo-video sensor and a battery.

Some already imagine that the watch and the glasses will be able to interconnect.

Response in 2022.
