Over 40,000 police hats worn by frontline police officers were found to be low-quality Chinese products.

The country of origin was changed to domestic by the so-called'label change' method of changing the brand, and the delivered scale alone reached 260 million won.

This is the exclusive report by reporter Jeon Byeong-nam.

police hat that looks ordinary.

But when I turn it over, I can see the traces of cutting off the original trademark label.

This is a Chinese-made police hat that has been transformed into a domestic product through the so-called'replace the label of origin' method.

These low-quality products were actually distributed to the police.

As a result of a joint investigation between the Public Procurement Service and the Korea Customs Service, Company A, which won a supply contract with the Public Procurement Service two years ago, violated the core contract condition of'supplying directly produced domestic products' and subcontracted the importer Company B.

Company B turned over 43,000 police hats made in China into domestic production and handed it over to Company A.

The amount delivered through this method alone amounted to 260 million won, and all of these'label change' police hats were provided to frontline policemen.

The factory, which was capable of producing 20,000 hats per year, was moved to another location.

[Building manager: I made clothes, clothes. It's been a long time (since it moved). They came from the police station or (to investigate).]

Companies A and B delivered a total of 820 million won worth of label change, such as delivering 36,000 Indonesian cold protection gloves as domestic products. It turned out to be a scam.

[Kim Gyeong-hyup/National Assembly Information Committee Chair: The fact that these unreliable products were delivered to the police and military who are struggling in the front line of security and defense is a serious problem.] A

As the possibility of further existence cannot be ruled out, it seems necessary to expand the investigation.
