The doodle chosen by Google to adorn its home page this Friday is dedicated to the Lunar New Year, celebrated this year on February 12.

The year of the rat is now over and that of the buffalo has succeeded it.

The animal is also highlighted in the illustrations produced for the occasion by Sophie Diao, we learn on the page dedicated to the event by the Californian giant.

The artist accompanied the bovine with dancing figurines evoking lions.

This animal symbolizing both power and wisdom is often used in celebrations marking the Lunar New Year.

It also has a reputation for bringing good luck and making you rich.

As for the buffalo, it traditionally evokes a slow but sure and stable progression.
