In its email, the company specifies that the bug appeared on December 21, 2020 in its Android application, but it did not detect any unauthorized access to Slack accounts.

It took almost a month for the company to discover the security breach.

It was only on January 20 that she noticed the problem which was corrected the next day.

Download the update and change your password

To benefit from the patch implemented, all you have to do is download the application update.

However, Slack emphasizes that it's best to change your password in any case.

The "selection of a complex and unique password is strongly recommended", she specifies in the email.

This manipulation is "essential to protect the integrity of your account," adds Slack.

This is not the first problem the courier has encountered in recent times.

At the beginning of January, the messaging system had been the victim of a worldwide blackout for a few hours.

All platform functionality was affected whether it was on the app or on the website.
