the first time in the history of constitution, an impeachment lawsuit against general judges was passed at the National Assembly today (4th).

In the plenary vote, 179 votes for the vote and 102 votes for the opposition, far exceeded the quorum.

The judge who was tried for impeachment by the Constitutional Court was Deputy Judge Im Seong-geun.

Upon the news of the approval of the impeachment bill, Judge Seong-geun Lim said he was very sorry and would call the Constitutional Court.

However, this morning, before a vote on the impeachment bill was made in the National Assembly today, Deputy Judge Im Seong-geun released a recording file.

It was a recorded file of the story he had with Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo in May of last year that he had resigned.

Judge Im Seong-geun argued that the Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo had prevented his resignation while referring to the discussion on impeachment of the political power.

The recorded file contained the voice of the Supreme Court Chief referring to the impeachment, and the Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo, who was revealed to have lied within a day, apologized today for regretting.

First, reporter Bae Joon-woo will deliver the conversation between the two.

<Reporter> The

transcript file released by Senior Judge Im Seong-geun is 96 seconds out of the 43-minute conversation.

This is the conversation we had at 5 pm on May 22 last year in the Office of the Chief Justice.

When Judge Lim expressed his appreciation for deteriorating health, Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo said that while he was concerned about his health, there were many concerns about accepting his resignation.

[Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo (May 22, 2020, 5 p.m., Supreme Court Chief's Office): I like that Mr. Lim resigns right now, but I have to think a lot about it and watch various situations...

] In

the areas of concern, it is clear that it is burdensome to discuss the political situation in relation to the impeachment of judges, which also includes Judge Lim.

[Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo (May 22, 2020, 5pm, Chief Justice Office): If I talk more openly, I'm setting up something like that to impeach myself, but if I accept my resignation, what will the National Assembly hear, right?]

Chief Justice Kim Although he said that he was not realistic or disagrees with the impeachment of the judge, he repeatedly expressed his discomfort in accepting the resignation of Judge Lim.

[Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo (May 22, 2020, 5 p.m., Chief Court Officer): If you just fix it today, you can’t talk about impeachment.

I thought it would be very inappropriate to receive such criticism.]

Judge Lim's assertion that the Supreme Court Chief Justice, who was the head of the judiciary due to the disclosure of the recording file, did not accept the judge's resignation on the grounds of debating the impeachment of the politicians, turned out to be true. Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo's clarification that he did not make a statement or mention the impeachment of politics turned out to be false within a day.

Deputy Judge Lim said he had requested another resignation in December of last year, seven months later, but said he received a call saying that it was the intention of Chief Justice Kim to resign at the end of his term in late February.

In the end, Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo lowered his head.

[Kim Myung-soo/President of the Supreme Court: Why? Anyway, I apologize and apologize to all those who were disappointed with Senior Judge Im Seong-geun.] In

particular, I apologized, saying, "I apologize for answering differently from the facts based on unclear memories of 9 months ago."
