The night before yesterday (2nd), a couple in their thirties assaulting a taxi driver asking for a mask to wear a mask in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, were caught by the police.
The Suwon Central Police Department said that a man and woman in their 30s were charged with assaulting a driver under the Specific Crimes Aggregated Penalty Act.
The couple got in a taxi from Guodong-dong, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, at around 10:30 the night before and drove about 5km to Cheoncheon-dong.
The taxi driver explained that when he asked, "Why didn't I wear it because the woman wasn't wearing a mask at the time of boarding," he said.
They are accused of assaulting a taxi driver several times, including hitting the face and body of a taxi driver.
Eventually, the taxi driver reported 112 and was investigated by the police who were dispatched.
Police said they were checking the exact details of the crime.
