TERROR: The scary series that scares Stephen King and Guillermo del Toro
STRANGE LIVES: HBO's hidden gem that has fallen in love with half the world
DEVILS (Movistar +, February 3)
Patrick Dempsey
stars in this co-production between Italy, Great Britain and France.
The Spanish
Laia Costa
(
Foodie Love
) accompanies the
Grey's Anatomy
star
in a
thriller set in the world of finance
.
Tension, high-risk trading and miscellaneous betrayals are some of the highlights in a 10-part series set in the
City of London
.
THE DANCE OF THE FIREFLIES (Netflix, February 3)
Like Patrick Dempsey, another
Grey's Anatomy
star
has a new series.
It is about
Katherine Heigl
and, in her case, she premieres
The Dance of the Fireflies
.
In this drama we see the
long story of friendship through several decades
starring Tully (Heigl) and Kate (
Sarah Chalke
).
These two girls met in 1974 in high school and, from then on, they suffer and enjoy together in events that threaten to take
out the odd tear
.
The 10-part series adapts a novel written by Kristin Hannah and is produced by Katherine Heigl.
SMALL MATCHES (Amazon Prime Video, February 5)
The third (and last) season of this
sitcom
that, fortunately, does not fit the predictable, is loaded with news.
And with
Javier Veiga and Marta Hazas
as absolute stars of the show.
The protagonists have long ceased to be strangers and have gone through
all the possible stages of love.
Now, she is pregnant and he, as always, tries to fix the mistakes he makes over and over again.
To highlight the small but very interesting participation as secondary of
Loles León and Jesús Vidal.
IRON (Movistar +, February 19)
The second season of this
impeccably crafted thriller
returns to offer a great interpretive duel starring
Candela Peña and Darío Grandinetti
.
On this occasion, the judge and the businessman who owns a banana plantation find themselves immersed in new problems that have to do with drug trafficking but also with a father who claims custody of his daughters.
This new character is played by
Matias Varela
, a performer seen in such powerful productions as
Narcos
and
Raised by Wolves
.
Again, the
island of El Hierro
, its landscapes and its people add interest to plots full of mystery.
THE INTERNSHIP: THE SUMMITS (Amazon Prime Video, February 19)
Between 2007 and 2010, Antena 3 broadcast
El internado
, an
intrigue series
that became one of the chain's greatest hits.
Time has passed and now comes a
reboot
or, what is the same, a
relaunch
.
Natalia Dicenta, Joel Bosqued, Alberto Amarilla or Mina El Hammani (
Elite
) are some of the stars of new plots set in a
school located in an almost inaccessible area.
A unique space where inexplicable events occur in the first eight chapters of a series that smells of success.
TRIBES OF EUROPE (Netflix, February 19)
It is difficult to know yet whether it will reach the impact of
Dark
, but
Tribes of Europe
has a lot going
for it to become the 'new hit German series'.
And, like
Dark
, it plays with the power of a magic item (here, a cube) and promises a lot of action.
Its plot places us in 2074
, in a bleak panorama with characters struggling to
survive after a global catastrophe.
GHOSTS (Movistar +, February 26)
This
British comedy series
promises to make us laugh (and a lot)
in which
ghosts from different eras come together to drive a couple out of a mansion
.
The most hilarious moments come from the difficult coexistence between such peculiar entities as a soldier from World War II, a beheaded man from the time of the Tudors, a poet from Romanticism or a scout leader, among others.
In Britain, the two seasons aired have been
one of the BBC's recent successes
.
