Korea is ranked 12th out of 53 major countries in the world in the rankings of countries that are well overcoming Corona 19, down 4 steps from a month ago.

Looking at the'Corona 19 Resilience Ranking for January' compiled by Bloomberg today (31st), Korea ranked 12th out of 53 countries for evaluation.

Korea ranked fourth in November last year, when this ranking was first compiled, but fell to 12th place for two consecutive months.

Bloomberg scores 11 items per month, including confirmed cases per 100,000 population, Corona 19 fatality rate, deaths per 1 million population, vaccine securing rate per population, containment intensity, mobility between regions, and economic growth forecasts.

In the January count, Korea lost its score in this category with 0 vaccinations per 100 people.

The number one country in resilience was New Zealand, which remained at the top following last month, followed by Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, and China.

Japan was also in the top 10 with 8th.

The United States was in 35th place, and Mexico, with the recent surge in deaths, was ranked 53rd with the lowest score.

Bloomberg explained that Asian countries are generally sluggish in terms of securing vaccines, but even if COVID-19 is well controlled, other countries could be pushed out of the rankings if the vaccine quickly normalizes.
