Choi Kang-wook (53), the Open Democratic Party representative, was convicted of falsely writing the internship certificate of the son of former Justice Minister Cho Kook, and was sentenced to loss of the office at the first trial.
Judge Jeong Jong-gun, exclusively 9 criminals of the Seoul Central District Court, sentenced CEO Choi, who was sentenced to imprisonment for obstruction of work today (28th), to eight months in prison and two years of probation.
If a member of the National Assembly is convicted of a sentence of more than a confinement (including suspension of execution), he or she will lose his position.
Choi was indicted on January 23 of last year for falsely issuing an intern certificate to the son of former Minister Cho, who did not actually work as an intern in October 2017 while working as a lawyer at the Cheongmaek Law Firm.
Former Minister Cho's son submitted this confirmation to Korea University and Yonsei University graduate school entrance examinations and passed them all.
