Deputy Prime Minister Yoo Eun-hye and Minister of Education said today (27th), "Although the infection in the community (Corona 19) spreads, the infection (risk) in schools was not as great as a whole."

Deputy Prime Minister Yoo appeared on the radio today and said, "At the time of the spread of local infections from November to December last year, there were infections in some schools, but if quarantine is thorough, the risk of infection in schools is relatively low." I explained.

The Ministry of Education announced this year's work plan yesterday, and announced that it will promote school first, mainly for young children, lower grades of elementary school, and students with disabilities.

However, some say it is dangerous to expand school in the corona 19 situation.

Deputy Prime Minister Yoo emphasized, "We will create a stable school environment by analyzing the trend of infectious diseases in the school last year and providing necessary support."

We also reaffirmed that the same delays as last year will not be repeated this year.

Deputy Prime Minister Yu explained, "Last year, the system of remote classes was not available, so we inevitably postponed school opening, but now, even if it becomes a dangerous situation in which the infection spreads, we can start school with remote classes."

When asked if students in kindergarten, lower grades of elementary school, and students with disabilities can go to school every day in the new semester, he said, "We cannot make arbitrary decisions. We need a comprehensive diagnosis of the spread of infectious diseases."

Still, he added, "The class will be conducted in the same type as last year, but the quality of the class and the stability of academic management will be better than last year."
