There was a case of a companion animal infected with Corona 19 for the first time in Korea.
This cat was raised by the family of the confirmed person, and it appears to have been transferred to the owner.

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun mentioned the first case of a companion animal contracted with Corona 19 at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting held yesterday (24th).

infected companion animal was found to be a cat.
A mother and daughter visited a prayer center in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, where a recent group infection occurred, and was confirmed. One of the three cats the mother and daughter had had a positive test.
The quarantine authorities are placing weight on the possibility of human infection.
Although it is the first in Korea, 240 animal infection cases were reported worldwide last year, of which 37 were cats.
Most of them are believed to have been infected through contact with a confirmed person.
