The court sentenced a former Green Party official who was handed over to trial for sexual assault against Shin Ji-ye, representative of the Korean Women's Political Network.



The 5th Criminal Division of the Busan District Court sentenced Mr. A to three years and six months in prison and imprisoned him in court.



It also ordered 40 hours of sexual violence treatment and a three-year limit on employment in the field of children and adolescents.



Mr. A is accused of sexually assaulting CEO Shin in Busan last February.



Shin revealed the facts of the rape victims while running for an independent office in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul last year.



Shin, who joined the Green Party in 2012, announced his name by running for mayor of Seoul under the slogan of being a feminist mayor of Seoul in the June 2018 local election.
