In April 2018, a story that the Blue House was curious about the timing of the decision to suspend Wolseong Unit 1 was delivered to the Ministry of Industry, and two months later, on June 15, the early closure of Wolsong Unit 1 was decided.

Then last year, the auditor filed an objection.

He pointed out that there is a possibility of a crime in the process of deciding to close the nuclear power plant, and the prosecution began an investigation.

The prosecution has turned over three incumbent public officials from the Ministry of Industry to trial on suspicion of deleting evidence that contains the process of the decision to shut down, and it was confirmed as a result of SBS interview that it had recently informed the former Minister of Industry, Baek Ungyu.

The intention is to question the responsibilities of former Minister Baek, who is at the top of the decision-making process of the Ministry of Industry.

In particular, the prosecution is paying attention to the fact that in April 2018, the head of the Ministry of Industry reported the remarks he heard from the Blue House to Secretary Baek, and since then, the internal policy has changed due to the shutdown of the nuclear power plant.

The date of the summons is being coordinated with former Minister Baek, but it is known that the summons will happen soon.

For the first time, Minister Baek said to SBS reporters, "The auditor evaluated the business interests, but the Ministry of Industry considered not only economics but also comprehensively."

It is accepted as a warning that you are innocent and that you will speak up if an adverse situation arises.

The prosecution plans to summon Minister Baek to determine whether he instructed him to destroy the nuclear power plant-related materials, and whether he was subjected to external pressure for the change to the nuclear power plant shutdown policy.
