Greenwashing?

The Korean manufacturer has obviously put forward ecological motivations to justify its decision, an argument also used by Apple.

Samsung assures that by doing so its impact on the environment will be reduced since it will produce fewer chargers.

It will also be able to transport more boxes at one time since the latter are smaller.

Completely logical arguments, but which could nevertheless be difficult to pass.

The Galaxy S21 box is smaller, so you can carry more at once.

It should also be noted that the cable supplied to charge the Galaxy S21 is USB-C to USB-C type.

A format widely adopted by the industry, says Samsung.

However, if most consumers do have chargers at home, most of them are USB-A type chargers.

Future new Galaxy S21 owners will therefore have to go to checkout to acquire a new charger.

Again, the news might be hard to get through.

The news might have been less bitter if Samsung had not mocked - like other manufacturers - Apple during the presentation of the iPhone 12, delivered without charger or headphones.
