Ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays, courier workers asked to prevent long working hours and warned that they would go into strike proceedings if no countermeasures were found at a meeting of the social consensus organization tomorrow (19th).

The courier worker overwork countermeasures committee held a press conference in front of the headquarters of Hanjin Courier in Seoul today and said, "Even after the courier companies announced their countermeasures, five workers were overworked."

On December 7, last year, in Gijang-gun, Busan, the countermeasures committee said that in addition to the loss of a Lotte courier worker during delivery, three Hanjin courier workers collapsed due to cerebral hemorrhage and had undergone surgery until January this year.

Also, on December 23rd last year, a Lotte courier worker in Suwon collapsed and died while commuting to work.

The Countermeasures Committee argued that "Lotte and Hanjin Express have virtually no human resources involved in the sorting process, and Hanjin Express, which announced the suspension of late-night delivery, still carries out late-night delivery."

At the 5th meeting of the social consensus organization scheduled to be held tomorrow, the Task Force will demand ▲ that the courier will be 100% responsible for the sorting workforce and expenses ▲ stop night delivery ▲ allow delayed delivery ▲ normalize delivery charges.

If an agreement cannot be reached, the countermeasures committee said that after the two days of voting for and against the industrial action, a general strike will begin on the 27th.
