A charred body was found Wednesday in Marseille in the trunk of a burning vehicle.

This news item comes just a few days after the discovery of two other corpses in a burnt car near the city of Marseille.

A charred body was found Wednesday by the Marseille firefighters in the trunk of a burning vehicle, just days after the discovery of two other corpses in a burnt car near the Phocaean city. 

The corpse was discovered around 11 a.m., told AFP the firefighters, who had been called to the scene after residents reported a vehicle on fire, Chemin de Bizet, in the Estaque district (16th arrondissement), in the north of the city. 

A "Marseille barbecue"? 

It could be once again what investigators qualify as "Marseille barbecue", a modus operandi intended both to mark the spirits and to erase the traces of criminals.

The last in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône dated back to December 29 only, with the discovery of two charred bodies in a vehicle in the town of Pennes-Mirabeau.

These last two deaths in 2020 brought to 12 the number of victims of settling of accounts over the year in the entire department, according to the latest figures from the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters with AFP.
