Snow has stopped in Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces, but snow is still falling in Gwangju and Jeonnam.

A heavy snow news has been issued, but we will connect with a reporter in Gwangju to find out more about the news.

Reporter Minji Shin, is it still snowing?

<Reporter>

Yes, I am in Gwangju Bus Terminal.

As you can see, the snow has been falling and stopping repeatedly. The wind is very strong and I wear a thick coat, but I can't stop the cold from penetrating.

The road behind me now has snow piled up and turned into an icy road, and many cars continue to drive turtles.

After a while, when we get into full-scale rush hour, we are concerned about traffic disruptions in the city.

The snow, which started from the west coast in the afternoon of yesterday (6th), expanded to most regions of Gwangju and Jeollanam-do, with heavy snow warnings being reinforced with heavy snow warnings overnight.

The amount of snowfall so far has been recorded at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology 9.6cm, Damyang 11.6cm, Jangseong 11.3cm, Hwasun 8.3cm, and Muan 3.4cm.

The Meteorological Administration predicts that up to 30 cm of snow will accumulate by tomorrow.

Along with heavy snowfall, a strong cold continues. Cold weather warnings have been issued in 9 cities and counties in Jeonnam including Gwangju Metropolitan City, Yeonggwang, Gokseong, Naju and Boseong.

The minimum morning temperature in Gwangju and Jeonnam is expected to range from -15°C to -3°C, and the highest temperature in the daytime ranges from -7°C to -3°C.

In particular, with the addition of strong winds, the perceived temperature is expected to drop even further.

This snow and cold will continue until the weekend, but you should avoid outdoor activities as much as possible, and prepare in advance so that water pipes, boilers, and green houses are not damaged by freezing.

I think it would be better to use public transportation this morning as well as rush to work than usual.
