Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong appealed with tears to the court, saying, "I want to filial piety to my father who I respect so much" at the trial today (30th).



The Seoul High Court's Criminal Division 1 held a hearing on the decision to remand the destruction of the'Gukjeong Nongdan case' and proceeded with the final statement of Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.



Vice-Chairman Lee said, "I stood here with repentance today," and said, "I will not let Samsung get caught up in controversy again."



He said, "Chairman Lee Kun-hee suddenly collapsed and had a stand alone with former President Park Geun-hye while there was no economic situation," he said and "if it was now, I would never have dealt with it that way."



Vice-Chairman Lee recalled the process of receiving special prosecutors and prosecutors' investigations and trials over the past four years and said, "Honestly, it was a difficult, frustrating, and terrible time.



Regarding the activities of the Compliance Committee, Vice Chairman Lee emphasized that "significant changes are actually taking place" and that "there will never be a return to the past."



Vice-Chairman Lee mentioned the death of the late Chairman Lee Kun-hee in the process of making a final statement for about 20 minutes, saying, "I want to pay tribute to my father who I respect and respect," and even stole tears.



Vice-Chairman Lee is scheduled to be declared on the 18th of next month.
