On July 8th, a complaint against former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon was filed by the police, and two days later, former Mayor Park was found dead.

Surrounding this, there were suspicions that the former mayor's aides aided Mayor Park's sexual violence, and as the second attack continued to controversy, the police formed a dedicated investigation team to investigate.

First of all, the police handed over the complaint to the prosecution for the alleged assault as mayor Park died without the right to prosecute.

Regarding the suspicion that the aides of the former Mayor Park, such as the Seoul City Vice Mayor and the former and current secretary's office, were aware of the fact of the forced harassment and aided it, they commented that there was insufficient evidence to prove the charges.

Previously, while conducting an investigation in this regard, the police applied for a seizure and search warrant twice for digital forensics on Mayor Park's mobile phone, but the court dismissed all of them and faced difficulties in confirming the allegations.

The police applied charges of violating the Sexual Violence Penalty Act and defamation to the five people who circulated the victim's complaint documents and the four who gave malicious comments, respectively.

In addition, six people who posted photos of third parties unrelated to the case on the Internet claiming to be victims were also handed over to the prosecution on charges of defamation.

In addition, the police are conducting an investigation by receiving a complaint against Professor Minwoong Kim of Kyunghee University who recently posted the victim's real name on social media.
