Yesterday at 7:40 pm, a report was received that a 39-ton trawler was overturned in the sea about 2.6 km northwest of Jeju Port in Jeju Island.



It is known that 7 people, including the captain, were on board at the time of departure as a 32-person Minho, a trawler fishing vessel of Hallym Shipping.



The Jeju Coast Guard used helicopters and security ships to search and found a fishing boat overturned in the waters 1.3km north of Jeju Port at around 9:10 pm. 



Afterwards, rescuers aboard the overturned fishing boat knocked on the hull to check if there was anyone, and it was known that there was a reaction inside the hull.



The authorities are trying to search the ship with divers, but it is said that a storm warning was issued all over Jeju, and it is said that the wave rises up to about 3m with a strong wind of 20m per second in the area of ​​the accident, which is having difficulty in rescue work. .



It is known that the Coast Guard is first installing equipment to prevent the sinking of the ship, taking into account the weather conditions.



Minister of Public Administration and Security Jeon Jeon-cheol ordered that all administrative power be mobilized to devote all efforts to the search and rescue of people.
