Seoul Metropolitan Government conducted a special inspection last night (24th) to see if the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people in the metropolitan area is well followed.

16 businesses have been discovered, and the policy is to continue this inspection until January 3, next year.

Last night on Christmas Eve, a restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, and city hall staff measuring the gap between tables point out violations of quarantine measures.

Seoul City Hall quarantine inspection squad started to check whether the strengthened quarantine measures, centered on restaurants and bars, are being followed during the Christmas and New Year holidays.



Major inspection targets include whether the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people is well observed and whether the electronic access register is properly operated.

Yesterday, the Seoul Metropolitan Government

inspected

over 1,400 places a day and found 16 businesses including entertainment bars that violated the ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people.



Violation of the quarantine rules may result in a fine of 100,000 won for users and up to 3 million won for business owners, suspension of operations, or closure of facilities.



Business owners also complain of difficulties due to operating losses.

The city of Seoul has asked to refrain from going out as much as possible during the holiday season.
