Christmas is approaching one day ahead, but the atmosphere at this time of year isn't easy because of Corona.

Even if you are a little frustrated, please spend this Christmas holiday at home in good health in order to restore your daily life.

Let’s call a reporter out of Sinchon, Seoul to see what it looks like outside.

Reporter Kim Sang-min, I wonder if there was such a quiet Christmas Eve, but what is the atmosphere of the streets now?

<Reporter>

Yes, there are large trees and various lights installed on the streets of Sinchon for Christmas as usual, but the atmosphere has changed significantly.

Every year on Christmas Eve, a crowd of couples and families filled the streets, and charity events were held to help the underprivileged. Today (24th) there are more passers-by than usual weekends.

In about an hour, all of the restaurants and bars in this area will have to close, so as time goes by, there will be more passers-by.

Religious events that were held every year in churches or cathedrals on Christmas Day are held without people gathering this time, right?

<Reporter>

Yes, the government excluded regular worship services and masses from private gatherings and excluded from group bans for more than 5 people, but emphasized that all religious events from today to January 3 of next year are non-face-to-face.

It is unlikely that many people will come together to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus this year.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul plans to hold all major Masses such as Christmas Eve Mass and Christmas Noon Mass tomorrow non-face-to-face.

Following the ban on private gatherings for more than 5 people, the government also banned gatherings in so-called'party rooms' that are rented as meeting places.

However, it is only recommended that various gatherings organized by individuals at the lodging facility be banned. As this holiday is expected to be a major hurdle for quarantine, more than anything else, voluntary cooperation from citizens seems desperate.
