Two detainees at the Seoul detention center in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, were confirmed to be corona19.
Accordingly, the detention center decided to conduct a thorough inspection on 3,100 prisoners and employees.
According to the correctional authorities today (22nd), the Seoul Detention Center conducted a corona19 diagnostic test from yesterday on 50 detainees and 36 employees who had contacted the prisoners who were recently confirmed.
As a result, it was confirmed that two prisoners were tested positive.
Of the 36 employees, 33 tested negative, while the remaining 3 are currently awaiting test results.
Earlier, the Seoul detention center was detained on the 12th for non-payment of fines. .
In this detention center, former President Park Geun-hye, pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon, Sarangjeil Church pastor, Kim Jae-hyun, CEO of Optimus Asset Management, and Lee Dong-jae, former Channel A reporter, are imprisoned.
The Ministry of Justice said, "After quarantining the confirmed prisoners, the medical staff at the Seoul Detention Center are intensively managing them."
He added, "We will organize a special inspection team to conduct on-site inspections on the overall situation of corona 19 quarantine in correctional facilities nationwide starting today."
Previously, a total of 187 people, including 185 prisoners and 2 employees, were confirmed as a result of a recent corona19 full test at the Seoul East Detention Center.
